Glastonbury is a unique small town.
Almost every shop is an independent, offering wondrous things!
From crystals, spell books and cauldrons to recycled clothes, art work and
jewellery.
Glastonbury attracts creative people of all kinds.
There are three galleries including our own, Facets of Avalon, as well as
many cafes and restaurants displaying locally made art and craft.
There is a fantastic range of food available. Something for everyone.
Highly recommended would be The Hundred Monkeys at the top of the High
Street and the Café Galatea, lower down if you're not in a hurry.
The Assembly rooms on the High Street always has some form of performance on
offer. Most of the pubs offer music at the weekends.
What ever type of healing attracts you it will be available here!
Annual events which attract people globally, include the Glastonbury
Festival in June, which actually vacates the town. The site is in Pilton
about five miles away. This is a good time to see the town when it's quiet!
July sees the Crop Circle Conference happen in the Town Hall. Some very
interesting speakers and coach tours are available to see the circles first
hand.
August has the Goddess Conference also in the Town Hall, organised by Kathy
Jones. A hugely enjoyable event attracting men now as well as women. It is a
celebration of the female and great fun! Lots of ceremony, singing and
dancing.
October and halloween is an important time for the town.
November sees the famous carnival with electric bulb covered floats go up
the high street.
Christmas often sees the shops get into the festive spirit, giving free
mulled wine and mince pies to customers.
All year round, Glastonbury is a special place and well worth a visit.
